Frequently asked questions

Got questions about Kitchen to Court? You're in the right place. This section addresses some of the most common queries about what this blog is all about.

If you had to explain 'Kitchen to Court' to a mate over a cuppa, what's the main idea and what kind of stories can folks expect?

It’s a place where I share stories from cooking, playing pickleball, and working in business — because they all teach the same things in different ways. Preparation matters. People matter. Timing matters. And you don’t always get it right the first go.

The stories are simple and real. A moment in the kitchen that turns into a lesson about patience. A rally on the court that says something about decision-making. A work situation that reminds you why relationships always come first.

Nothing fancy. Just honest reflections that make you nod and think, “yeah, that makes sense.”

What's the main feeling or insight you hope readers take away from spending time on 'Kitchen to Court'?

I hope people walk away feeling a little more grounded and a little less rushed.

That sense that you don’t need to have everything figured out, you just need to prepare well, pay attention, and show up properly — whether that’s in the kitchen, on the court, or at work. Most of the good stuff comes from slowing down, noticing patterns, and treating people well along the way.

If someone closes the site or a newsletter and feels calmer, clearer, or quietly encouraged to take the long game rather than chase quick wins, then it’s done its job.

Cooking, pickleball, and business – that's an interesting combo! What made you want to bring these particular areas together?

On the surface they seem like very different worlds, but the more time I’ve spent in each, the more I’ve realised they’re teaching the same lessons.

Cooking teaches you about preparation, patience, and not rushing the process. Pickleball teaches you timing, adaptability, and reading people in real time. Business brings all of that together — how you prepare, how you respond under pressure, and how you treat people when things don’t go to plan.

Kitchen to Court came from noticing those overlaps in everyday life. A moment in the kitchen would remind me of something that happened on the court. A rally would mirror a business decision. After a while, it felt natural to start writing about it.

It’s not about forcing the three together — it’s about noticing how often the same principles show up, just in different settings.

You mentioned it's more of a chat than a manual. What's something 'Kitchen to Court' isn't trying to be for its readers?

Kitchen to Court isn’t trying to be a rulebook, a coaching program, or a place that tells people how to live, play, or run their business.

It’s not about hacks, hot takes, or pretending there’s one right way to do things. There’s no step-by-step formula here and no pressure to take notes.

It’s simply a space for honest stories and reflections — the kind you’d share over a cuppa or after a game — where people can take what resonates and leave the rest.
